I 'accidentally' bought a designer necklace for just $6 at the thrift store - I was shocked when I realized its worth
A THRIFTY shopper accidentally scored big during a recent shopping trip without knowing it.
The customer was shopping at Savers, browsing for items to add to her closet when she came across a necklace worth far more than the asking price.
Madalyn, @madalynnewelll on TikTok, is a self-proclaimed "chronic thrifter" who uses her platform to primarily document her thrift hauls and secondhand aesthetics.
In a recent video, she marveled over an accidentally major jewelry find that should make her considerably richer.

"I accidentally bought a Dior necklace for six dollars yesterday at Savers," she introduced the video.
After seeing the tag marking it as a designer brand, she investigated the piece further, finding it to be worth hundreds.

The piece she found was a vintage Christian Dior crystal omega choker necklace from the 1980s.
On one website she found the necklace selling for just over $700.
Other sites had it listed from $200 to $500, depending on the condition of the jewelry.
Although Madalyn did not divulge how much she sold it for, she quickly had a buyer and customized the packaging to give the customer a full designer experience.

Before signing off from her video, she left her followers with some sage thrifty advice.
"If you ever find a designer item, or what you think is a designer item, while you are thrifting, I always recommend using Google Lens," she said.
"You can take a picture of the item and then Google will search the internet for you."
This is a method she uses that quickly finds estimated values of objects like the Dior necklace.
